ACCOUNTANT (Offshore/Investments Sector)
Overview: Our client is a leading investment management/offshore accounting organisation which manages $Billions in assets for their global client base. Due to growth, they are seeking a proven Accountant to join the team.
The successful candidate will be based in the Barbados office and be responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting for a portfolio of companies within the Group.
* Ensure adherence to Group policy, particularly in relation to accounting and financial reporting.
* Ensure compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering policy.
* Correspond regularly with various accounting and financial planning teams to ensure receipt of accurate and timely information.
* Maintenance of the general ledger for assigned entities, ensuring that appropriate approvals have been obtained and that where relevant, the necessary corporate actions have taken place to authenticate accounting transactions.
* Timely completion of month-end reporting procedures for assigned entities including the preparation of the reporting package which includes bank and inter-company reconciliations, management accounts, journal entries with supporting documentation and a completed checklist.
* Assisting with the budgeting and forecasting process for various entities.
* Preparation of annual and quarterly financial statements for assigned entities.
* Assist with the updating of Operations Procedures Manual.
* Preparation of audit schedules where necessary.
* Settlement of invoices charged to assigned entities through coordination with the treasury team.
* Filing of accounting records.
Desired Skills/ Qualifications:
• University degree and a recognized professional accounting designation (ACCA, CGA, CMA etc).
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
• Strong accounting knowledge with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets.
• Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to self-manage time and quality of work.
• Team player with strong inter-personal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
